Boutique Hotel is a new classification to define a type of higher end hotel that offers rooms or suites with individual and distinct personalities. They are also known as "Art Hotels" for their unique character. The following criteria was posted by the Vice-president of Tourism of the European Common (Market) for the international recognition of a Boutique Hotel. The requirements to be part of this very exclusive classification are:

All rooms must be different to each other in design and decoration.
Architecture must be superior than the normal parameters for traditional
hotels
The decoration must include original art and furnishings must include
original antiques.
The furniture of the rooms cannot be standardized. Each room must be
furnished differently.
The hotel has to have a maximum of 25 rooms but include all the services
that would be standard of a big hotel.
Every room has to have a name as identifier (example: green room blue room)
Gourmet services must be available to all rooms.
The guest services must be personalized to the guests.
All guests must be treated as V.I.P.'s.
